Got Questions? We Can Help!

The Client Connection Guide is a step-by-step workbook that helps therapists identify their Ideal Client and turn that insight into clear, authentic marketing language—so the right clients recognize themselves in your profile and website.

This guide is for mental health practitioners who struggle to clearly describe the clients they help, want their marketing content to be stand out (be less generic) and attract better-fit clients - not just inquires, The Guide is especially helpful if your messaging feels broad, vague, or disconnected from how you actually work with clients.

When you’re clear about who you’re speaking to, marketing feels less like guesswork and starts drawing in the right clients. The guide is built on a simple idea - deep therapeutic work begins with connection, and clients are more likely to reach out when they feel understood before the first session. Knowing your Ideal Client helps you write marketing content in a way that feels validating and for the people you’re meant to support.

Having an Ideal Client isn’t about forcing yourself into a narrow box. It’s about clarifying the clients you’re meant to help right now. You can have more than one Ideal Client, and your focus can evolve over time as your work and interests change.

It’s a common concern, but focusing on your Ideal Clients doesn’t limit referrals. Clear, specific messaging helps other therapists know exactly which clients to refer to you and helps the right clients recognize themselves in your marketing and reach out.

Yes! The Guide uses guided prompts and structured exercises so you do not have to start from a blank page. You focus on your real experiences with clients, and the framework helps you turn that into clear, relatable language for all of your marketing efforts.

The Client Connection Guide leverages information you have in your client files, The Guide has a step-by-step approach to gathering, organizing and summarizing relevant data. You are not answering prompts such as "What keeps your clients up at night?" The Guide also helps you determine if you have multiple Ideal Clients and the unique characteristics and symptoms of each.

The guide was created by Frances Barry - a child therapist in Los Angeles. Before launching her therapy career, Frances worked with data for over 20 years, experiencing firsthand how clear, targeted messaging improves marketing outcomes. Frances has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University (Los Angeles) and two Master's Degrees in Statistics, from Yale and Oxford (England).
